Student Leadership

We’ve got a super group of young men and women in leadership roles this year and we're expecting great things from them.

The Student Leadership are an enthusiastic team of talented individuals who have, voluntarily, stepped forward to accept additional responsibilities involved with aiding the director with maintaining the Simi Valley Instrumental Music Department's facilities, equipment, and organizational needs.
All members write essays, submit transcripts, interview/audition and attend leadership meetings in order to learn the skills it takes to handle such a large responsibility.

These students are exemplary models of musicianship and citizenship both on and off the field.  Their primary role is to work with in collaboration with the staff and general membership to make sure that needs are addressed, tasks are completed, and expectations are met.  They are given responsibility and in return are provided the chance to create the type of ensemble they see fit.  We strive to learn the value of competition and cooperation in balance, and hopefully, learn how to do it while having fun.
